Dedicated to an Old Friend

This is dedicated to some one very very special from days long ago. We reconnected recently and it was both fun and painful. Memories are not always what we want them to be. But they are a part of us they help us grow. So my friend from so long ago
I wrote this from the heart and I know I'm not a poet by any means but this what I hope our future holds.

You were once more than just a friend we had special
feelings we thought would never end.
But somehow we grew apart and the years just flew.
We discovered each other for a while we laughed
we cried and we smiled.
We knew things old would never be for the special friends
we were you and me.
But out of this discovery I hope you can see
the new friends that we can be
out of the old and into the new and all those years
that just flew
we'll bond a new friendship
you and me.
Thanks for everything my special friend.
Thanks to my stamping friends for bearing with me through this post sometimes special things happen to all of us and they make us grow this was a week of healing and growth for me and maybe this silly attempt at a poem will touch some of you out there as well.
Hugs,
Judy

Today's card I did for this weeks Squigglefly Let it Shine Challenge and right now all I can think of is Sunshine and Spring. Been a long winter. Once again this card was colored with Copic Markers. Okay I know my Sun is a little exaggerated but that's how much I need it to shine!!!

Card for Squigglefly Color Challenge

Good Morning,

Today is a very dismal day here in New England but my bright spot will be to have lunch with a dear Christian sister. She always brightens my life and because of scheduling we haven't been able to get together for some time. I call her my "Ellie fix" and whenever I'm down or confused she brings me right back to God's grace! So I am looking forward to today very much.

Now to the card I made.

This was for a Squigglefly color challenge and the colors were yellow, green and black. I just purchased this rooster a few weeks back and although I wanted one when I was using rubber stamps I just never got around to purchasing one. I wanted to use him in this challenge so I decided to make a farm collage...I had remembered seeing a barn on Squigglefly and thought this would be perfect so I went into SF and ordered it and within 15 minutes I was printing it out (ah the beauty of digi's). I also saw the sunflower and and had another aha moment. So I ordered that one too. When I went back to download it I think I discovered that I already had it (although I may have downloaded it twice, it's what my DH refers to as "Old Timers" he loves to rub in the fact that he is 5 years younger than me!). Ever done that with rubber stamps? I have and believe me it was a lot more expensive...the extra only made the price $4.00 total for both, so I don't feel too bad!

Got side tracked again! The card was made using SF Stamps and was colored with Copic Markers. I used the Wisped Frame Technique, from Technique Junkies Newsletter, around the images to make them stand out more.

Have a great week I know I will as soon as the yuckies move out...supposed to be in the 50s and beautiful later in the week..

Thanks for stopping by again love you all

On the Rail Squigglefly Scene Challenge #39

Okay so I read last weeks challenge and was so excited that I was able to use my new Martha Stewart punch, then when I went to post it later today the challenge all of a sudden became a scene!! Well luckily I choose this new digi from the ones on Saturday to use with my new punch!! I think it passes for a scene. Can't decide if she is on a ship or possible at a beach but the background looks like the sky and a muted sea. I'm not exactly sure what kind of rail it is guess it could be any kind you want it to be.

The background was done with the Watercolor Roll Technique and the image was done with watercolor crayons. I used watercolor paper for this because of the texture and I also used lemon juice to give the aged look. Lastly I used the torn frame method for the right side. All from Technique Junkies Newsletters.
Please notice the pretty punched border!!!
Next time I check on a Monday I will wait til later in the day..and check the date! LOL
Goodnight all

Belinda's Digital Art

Good Monday Morning,

We are going have another beautiful day today...so I'm not creating today...I'll probably start some yard work!!! Or maybe just go for a joy ride...hmmm joy ride verses yard work..this is an no brainier even for me!! LOL

Well today is my Belinda Digital Art Day and she has so many great images to choose from I don't know what to post...I have done several spring themed cards with her images and card kits. I think since this is going to be such a beautiful Spring (60's)day that I have to post something Springy.. The above card is a vase of Daffodils from Belinda's Hop into Spring Collection. This is a set and has several images and a few sayings too. Check it out by clicking on the title of this page. It also has the cutest bunnies for Easter or just spring.
I choose the Daffodil because it is one of the first spring flowers. The background is an older Technique Junkies technique and one of my all time favorites. It's quite simple all you need is a piece of card stock (white or light) watercolor crayons and a piece of acetate (or page protector, if your like me and can't find where you hid your acetate sheets), a brayer, and a spritz water bottle. Take two or three crayons and scribble the on the acetate. About an inch long and the width of the brayer...make sure to make them heavy, take your spritz bottle and spritz the crayon on the acetate and also your card stock...quickly take the brayer and run it through the crayon on acetate and then transfer to the card stock. Great watercolor effect!! it will have runs in it and you want these for a very effective look. I did this particular one on watercolor paper because it was handy and I liked the way it looks. Then I used clear dots and tinted pink dots to embellish the flowers and cards. It is probably hard to see but each flower on the vase has clear dot, the daffodils have tinted pink ones and the accent dot on the blue ribbon are pink. No matter what I do for embellishments it all starts with a great image so please remember to check out Belinda's Digital Art.
Thanks for stopping by and as always I love you all for all your kind comments, you all are my inspiration with your art and your encouragement!!!
Have a blessed week!!!
Judy
PS the orchid paper is not part of the card it just helps my scanner pick up truer colors on light card stock!

Victorine Originals

Good Morning,
Let me say first that "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!" The sun is shinning brightly and it is supposed to be in the 50's again today!!! Woo Hoo I am so ready for spring..know that this is New England I'm sure winter has not left completely but the end is in sight! This truly is the day that "God hath made" his day and beautiful too what more could I ask on a Sunday.
I have a new announcement to make I am an official member of the Design Team for Victorine Originals. The cards above are my first "official" post. I'm sure you are all aware that I love Vicki's stamps, and Vicki and Charles. They are wonderful people and run a great company. I have been doing business with them since I first started stamping. Since I have made so many cards with their stamps for challenges and fun I found that I had a lot of cards with no place to go...so I asked Vicki a while back if she would like them and she was thrilled. Being the Mom of three children and running the business doesn't leave her much time to make samples. So out of this evolved me becoming an official DT Member. She runs a very casual DT and basically I just do and send cards when I can. My goal is to get cards to her before holidays so she will be able to send them to Vendors and post them on eBay (that is where I first met them). That's why so many Easter cards.
Hope you enjoy the cards. I have linked the title to her web site and be sure to visit her blog...she has some great tutorials along with some other items that might interest you...
Have a great week all my friends and a blessed on too.

Gingersnap Creations Birthday!

Click on title to link to Gingersnap Cretions!!

Hey everyone Gingersnap Creation's turning one!!! That's right ONE YEAR OLD...and if you know anything about them you know that it is a fantastic blog spot...with fantastic things to do...and even though they are just ONE YEAR OLD they are jammed packed with monthly challenges, lists of magazines looking for cards...tutorials... there isn't much info on the card making scrapbooking world that this site doesn't have! They don't require one type of stamp, one type of digital, it is an open group...I guess that's how to describe it...so you can use your own favorite stamp with your own favorite coloring with your own creativity!!! And you know what else they encourage you to post your creations....how cool is that?

They are offering all sorts of prizes and blog candy so hop on over and see what's there!!!
Now don't know if I'm supposed to do this so don't tell on me okay? But they had a Birthday Party Card Party where you had to make 4 post card type cards. 4 X 6 and not a card but a post card with no fold...I made my 4 and I am ready to mail them but above is a sneak preview of just one card!!
