Winter Wonderland

I saw a challenge listed on Gingersnap Creations and it reminded me of a tutorial that Michelle Zindorff recently did. I love her work and save everyone of her tutorials and always plan to try one. Well I thought the Chilly Waterfront was beautiful so I decided to ues it. I decided to use only the first steps and use a background thopough.

I love using a brayer and don't do it enough!!!

Card was created using SU Temptation Turquoise and Versa Magic Sea Breeze. Snow Flakes are by Firecracker Designs by Pamela http://www.firecrackerdesignsbypamela.com/ and tree is mine. Background is Cuttlebug Snowfakes Embossing Folder.

If you would like to try this card see http://www.zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ tutorial #283. I hope to be able to play with more of her artistic tutorials.

Today is Saturday and I had a Great Stamping Week

You know I don't know why as a retired person I look forward to Fridays...I should be full of dread because it's the begining of my DH's weekend. Not the I dread him but just the intruption in routines. He like to take a few naps so I have to be real quiet which is hard for me. I make a lot of noise just putting dishes away!!! I guess it is just habit from all the years I did work.

Hope you all had as great a weekend as I did. How is the Holiday season going for you? Mine is quiet since the children and grandchildren are all grown up. My youngest one is 7 and has always only celebrated Christmas as Jesus's Birthday and their family excanges gifts to celebrate Him.
Well guess that is if for today hope you all have a great weekend....we're supposed to get some snow sometime today. That will be a shock since it was in the 50's yesterday!!

Shy Bear Santa Hat Saturday Spotlight

Hi All,

Well today is Sunday and I hope all had a very Happy Thanksgiving. I did and I still recuperating today. DH and mostly did nothing all day...of course a nothing day for me is no housework....doesn't include stamping so I had a chance to make a card for the Saturday Night Spotlight. I didn't have just a hat stamp so I used on of my Shy Bear...he's in a wreath and wearing a Santa Hat.

I decided to make a fence based on the TJ Tech Faux Painted Panel... only instead of cutting out the panels (which I do a lousy job at) I used my ScorePal to make lines, and use my Scallop SU punch to make the top of the fence. So of course I wanted the wreath to hang on it which meant I had to cut it out. Very time consuming with all the little leaves, but I managed to do it and not cut off one leaf. It was colored with Copic Markers and for the fur on the hat I applied Aileene's Glitter Snow. It didn't glitter as much as I wanted so I put a layer of Stickles Silver Ice.
It's hard to see the fence but since this is all about the hat...I will scan another picture with a background paper later on. Although I don't think it will show up that much either way.
This is such a cute image and I really like how the card came out!! Image is by Squigglefly Digital Stamps.
Well that is it for now hope you enjoyed my post and card as much as I enjoyed your stopping by!!
Hugs and Blessings,
Judy

Monochromatic Challenge

Hi All hope you had a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving...I got to play a little in my craft room so I did this Monochromatic Card for a Challenge at Gingersnap Creations. It really looks better in real life but it has that sort of old look to it. I used shades of grey (very dark grey for brads) some might think they are black but it's still in the family right? LOL The card just had a blah look without them. Well time for me to start getting ready for bed so will post some more over the weekend! Opps the image is by Victorine Originals!!

Happy Turkey Day

Just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and may the Lord bless you all, may He watch over those of you who will be traveling to be with loved ones and see you safely to your destination and home again. May He also bestow many blessings upon each and everyone of you throughout the coming year!

And for a little I candy. I was truly blessed when this special lady asked me to be on her design team. I learned so much from her and my fellow DT members that year. I'm still learning from her through her website http://firecrackerdesignsbypamela.com/ and her blog http://pamelasgallery.com/ .

She is now also designing Digital images to add to her already marvelous rubber stamp collection. Here are a couple of her latest designs that inspired me to make these cards.
Probably will be busy over the next few days so have a wonderful Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Blessings and Hugs,
Judy

Happy Evening All!

I've been trying to get to this post all day...so here I sit waiting for midnight and Squigglefly's new releases!

But tonight my post is all about Victorine Originals and some great images that I have turned into cards. http://www.victorineoriginals.com/

Sit back relax and I hope you enjoy!!!

The ornament is a very simple image in it is only the outline. This just lets your creativity go crazy finding ways to fill it in. I probably would have kept going with this ornament but I had other images I wanted to post. Like the Poinsettia and the winter scene. Various techniques were used here including three from Technique Junkies www.techniquejunkies.com
and they are the three ornaments.
The winter scene was brayered and touched up with Copic Markers and the Poinsettia was colored with Copic Markers.
Well hope you enjoyed my little show and thanks so much for stopping by!!! : )

Geisha Girl

Hi My Stamping Friends, Here is a card I did for the Saturday Night Spotlight.
This week is Repeatedly Useful where you had to use a stamp more than once. I used the SU Set KANJI and the Faux Paper Design from Technique Junkies. The idea was to use a stamp more than once so I used the love, wisdom, and tranquility. Making love my focal stamp. The Geisha Girl is from Squigglefly.
There's some beautiful card designs in there already! I'm just glad they let me play along with them!!
Have a good night all!

Been busy!

Hi All,

Just when I think it is safe to go in the water (LOL)stamp that is, my dh finds other things for me to do.

We are doing a major basement cleanup!! He put up three heavy duty shelving units to store all our stuff on. Now I have to repak all my boxes into the same size boxes...he's a little OCD too!!

So for the last two weeks I've been a dungeon dweller. He doesn't like the fact that people can look in the windows so he put coverings over them. That is why I call it the dungeon.

Let me see what I candy I can round up for you today. First off I want to show off a baby picture of me!! What cha think? Not too many pics of me at this age so this is treasured. My bio dad passed away when I was only 1. Tough time for my mom (she had three kids) but she was strong and a survivor. That's why there aren't too many pics of me until I was around 8 when she met my step-dad, who is really my dad...he raised me with a lot of love and you would never know he wasn't my bio dad. In fact people used to say I looked like him and we would just laugh and say thanks! Get a little sentimental when I have to go thru old pictures!
I think this is all I'll post for today a little insight into my life...tomorrow I will put up some more cards...I really need to see where I left off!!!
Have a great day....and remember stamp, stamp, stamp!!!

Cute Daisy May Digi Stamps

I found this company through the Scrapbook News and Review Magazine (SNR) http://www.snrcardiverse.ning.com/ this is a place where several digital images and rubber stamp companies can list the name of their companies have sign up for membership to their groups sort of like a mini mall for card lovers.

Now Cute Daisy Mae Digi Stamps has some of the cutest girl images, here is how Linnie describes herself on her web site :

"I have developed my own style of drawing over many years and have been influenced by some of our finest illustrators from my childhood. I have always enjoyed drawing little girls in cutie poses and escape for hours in my own little world of innocence.. "

Kind of how we escape with our creations whether it be cards, projects, or anything using this amazing artist images as our focal point. We are so lucky to have talented artist like Linnie.

She offered a free "sheet" of digital stamps with four of her girls on it!!! WOWZA I had to go and grab that one...of course now I'm hooked and had to go by one of her sheets...cute little fairy girls (I'm a addict for fairies) Sheet "55" if you want to take a peek http://www.countrycraftergooglemailcom.blogspot.com/

Hope you like what I have done and will visit Linnie either at her blogspot or group on SNR!!!
Of course these cards will be going to the Cards For Heros Program. Which has changed it's name recently to Operation Write Home. www.operationwritehome.org ..this is a wonderful place to send your creations or swapped cards "pay it forward". They can use all the cards they can get.
Hope all of my stamping buddies have a wonderful day and if you're not a buddy please sign up to follow me and you soon will be a buddy!
Hugs,
Judy

Fall is Here

Hi Everyone

It has gotten so cold here the past few days I actually had to put on socks!! This for me is a big deal because I'm one of those barefoot people, usually winter or summer I don't wear shoes in the house. I've noticed as I have gotten older though (sigh) that my feet get colder now. Dr. says it has to do with circulation..must be stopping at the ankles now. Okay enough about my feet!!

Today I did a card using Firecracker Designs by Pamela she has some of the neatest sets and this one Wild Flower is no exception. I also used the Technique from Technique Junkies called Faux Paneling. Both web sites are on my side bar...just click on the picture to go to their sites.

Sorry about the wording on the card it didn't pick up so well but it says "Oh! Glorious Colors of Autumn.

Thanks for visiting me again and I hope that you are nice and toasty warm where ever you are!!

Good Morning

The only card I have made from the Latest TJ Newsletter!

Time keep getting away from me!! Never enough time to do all the things I want to do...especially my blog.

I have made a few cards but had a real nasty cold the past few weeks...did I already tell you this? Am I whinning? SORRY!!!

I have just started playing with the Technique Junkies techniques and did a few yesterday but haven't completed them yet. Need some inspiration to make them into cards.

I guess I don't really have a lot to say today....imagine that....so I'll just post a card and try to get my creative juices flowing!!

Happy stamping everyone!!

Saturday Spotlight Challenge

Hi everyone,

I have been wanting to enter the Saturday Spotlight Challenge for a few weeks now. Thank you Vicki for telling me about this challenge. Also Susan for information.

I took a tree that looked dead, I call it Scraggle Tree, and I wanted to make something positive and beautiful out of it. I hope I succeeded.

Tree image is by Victorine Originals and added embellishments are Flowersoft (snow)...I computer generated the words and sentiment and used Recollections Epoxy Stickers.

See entry above. Hope you all enjoy it.

Hello

Hi there I am going to work very hard to keep up with my posting.  I caught a very bad cold and am running a temp..not looking for pity but I did say last night I would post a card made with a digi stamp.
I received this in a swap and loved it.  I didn't know where it came from until I went into Squigglefly and there she was.   I didn't even know she was a digi until I saw her.   Isn't she a darling? I used prisima pencils to color her and the corner brads are actually paper cut out with a punch and then layered with clear coat (can't remember what it is called), too tired to look!!! LOL

Well off to bed have a great night and a better tomorrow.  If I don't post tomorrow it will mean I'm resting!!

Here's today's card.  The stamp is from Victorine Originals isn't he great?  Just added a little color to his face with watercolor crayons.  I used a nestabilities circle to make first layer (it's just a tad bit biger than the hand punch I used for Santa) and again a nestibililites circle one size upfor second layer.  The paper with holly I made last year with an unknow clear stamp and SU Old Olive and Real Red. The verse is computer generated.

This card was made for a Sketch Challenge on Victorne Originals group.  Laurie Unger supplied the Sketch layout.

Hope you enjoyed my card.

Have a great day it's looking like rain here today so I guess I'll hang out in the stamp room! LOL

Blessings,
Judy

I'm back!!!

Boy twice in the same month...can you believe it!! I've been keeping busy as usual. I've learned about a whole new world out there and I am getting mixed feelings from the stamping world. It's called Digital Stamping. Now before you go Boo Hiss let me explain how all this came about. I've been having problems with my hands for about two years now...and really thought I might have to give up stamping. There have been days when I can't even pick up the acrylic blocks. Then I saw a site called SquiggleFly and I downloaded a few of their digital stamps. I had tried them a long time and wasn't impressed. But now I wondered...so I investigated...I read...I downloaded freebies...I tried all sorts of coloring techniques...and amazingly they all worked...even watercoloring!! The trick I learned is to heat set the ink!! You can even emboss them if you do it as soon as it comes out of the printer with an ink jet printer. Okay so the long and the short of this story is I now have a way to continue stamping...when I have a good day...there are some...I will stamp because I still love it...and tons of money invested in stamps!!! But moving forward I think I will go with Digital Images. There are some sites that now offer both and I was thrilled.

Okay enough about me...how about some I candy... these are all regular stamps I have not done many digitals yet but when I do I will post them.

These are all Victorine Originals

I have so many cards that I haven't posted but these are my favorites right now. The little girl is called Peggy Sue (she is a custom stamp) if you are interested please let me know in your comment and I can give you the particulars. The horse is called Horses of Course...plus Pam has two new designs you need to check out while you are there Theater Lights and Leading Ladies. I have put links under photos to the web sites of these great companies.

Have a great day!!!

Good Morning

Well time to play a little more catch up. I'm still having fun playing with my Copic Markers!! At first I thought they weren't worth the money but I have found a couple of web sites that are selling them for a reasonable amount. One is Dick Blick and the other is Jerry's Artarama regular price is $4.87 but Jerry's has them on sale for $4.15(if still on sale). Image is by Victorine Originals (link not working see sidebar web site) and I love the fact that you can put anything her hand that you want. I think she is just adorable. Here are my latest cards done with Copic Markers

Hey I'm getting a little better

Well today is labor day and thank goodness my DH is using it for practical stuff..I'm just lazing around and he's working on the house...which means he could shut me down at any time. He's doing the electric upstairs. I have made some more cards and did quite a few for Victorine Originals. She had a Stamps for Cards for her gruop members and I love stamps and she has some great ones I think her prices are very reasonable and she does run some great sales. If you are interested in taking a peek the web site is www.victorineoriginals.com. Here are a few cards I made with her stamps.
