OPPS here is an ATC I made

Can't have Fall with out Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin Patch...

Hi Again

Hi all my blogger buddies. Time flew away again....have been really busy helping with renovations. We now have the shower and toilet all in one no more showering in the bathroom and peeing in the closet. DH put the new toilet in a few weeks ago.

This is a picture of my three fur babies cat and two dogs. Can you find them all? The littlest dog and the cat sleep together almost every night but during the day they fight just like cats and dogs...go figure.
Here's a few pictures.
Okay now I have to go do some work and pretend I didn't play all day....LOL.

One card today

Boy my age is really beginning to show I almost put in the cards that I did on Friday all over you realize that I didn't have to tell you all this!

So instead of a gazillion cards I only have one wee little one but it is a beauty...I'm not ringing my own bell but when you see this stamp you'll know why I said this. It would be hard to mess this stunning beauty up. The stamp is from About Art Accents...

Missed my stamping group on Saturday wasn't feeling the best and certainly didn't want to expose anyone to it. I definitely think is was a touch of flu and since I had my flu shot on Thursday it's more than likely. I always have a reaction to the shot...but it is minor compared to getting the flu. Okay now that I have caught you up on my health issues....I heard the group had a great time...hmmm...I wonder if it was because I wasn't there putting my 2 cents worth in...well they said they all missed me.

Okay here is the picture which of course will show up before all this chatter. Why is that?
Have a great night

Where is time going!!!

Good morning,

I don't know where all the time is going but it certainly has a way of getting away from me.

Progress on the house...Finally got to paint the bathroom..had to do touch up today. This means new toilet will go in this weekend and hopefully heat too. Now we will be able do two funtions in the new bathroom shower and pee!!! I'm tired of peeing in the closet!! LOL That being said and I'm sure you really wanted that information but just had to say it!!! All part of renovation process.
Here are some new cards I have done hope you enjoy!
Have a great weekend!!!!!

ATC Re do

After looking at the ATC I did using the Geometric Overlay I wasn't as pleased with it. It seemed to be to plain. I put in the portrait you will see in the photo. Still wasn't that pleased. Just couldn't think.. so I put out a help call to my former design team at Firecracker Designs by Pamela. Well I got three great responses...Pam suggested bling in right hand lower corner. Ursula suggested distressing the portrait and last but by no means least Lorraine suggested edging the sides in black. Putting all three together I got something I'm really proud of. Thank you all!! It's great having this type of support when you need it.

Geometric Overlay from Technique Junkies

Here are some pictures I did using a technique Junkie's technique out of the newest newsletter.
If you are interested in this group you can check them out on On the first ones I used chalk pads by Colorbox. The last one is an ATC and used Stampendous mini pads. When using these pads you have to use a very light touch because they bleed easily and will come out way too dark. I like the look almost antique.
The flower and ATC uses Firecracker Designs by Pamela
The girl stamp is by ISC and Flourishes are Stampin Up stamps All these great companies have fantastic stamps.
Well there's my advertisement for the day!!! LOL Where would all of us stampers be without all these great companies and their we can make our creations!!
Hope you enjoy my latest cards.
Have a great weekend and hopefully a lot of stamping out there!!!

Hi All, I lieu of what happened yesterday I urgently ask for prayers to go out for our country. I want to believe that congress had a good reason for doing what it did.....not being politically savvy I just pray it was the right decision and that they can come up with a package that will save this country from a certain recession. Please pray!!!

That being said and on a lighter note here is a Christmas card I made using a Technique Junkie which one I'm not sure for it was a while ago. I like to use non-traditional colors this time of the year so I used greens in different shades.

The card is by my stamping buddy Heather who owns her own business. She does a lot of special order stamps such as personal, sayings and logos. But she does have a few artistic stamps.

I have added it as an enclosure link.

Also in this post is a card I made for a very special lady named Brenda. She is the super Mom of all times. Not only does she have children of her own she also fosters children. She manages to do all this and still find time to stamp!!! So I made this stamp for her and I was sure happy when she said it arrived at a time when she really needed it.
Okay so they are backwards...but I'm sure you can tell which is which LOL
Have a great day!
Hugs and Blessings

Blog Awards

HI again well I have been tagged two more times so I am up to 35 that I have to tag. Now unless I go and randomly pick a blog spot I can't even come up with my first seven.

So I am requesting no more tags!!! Please! As much as I love receiving them I must inform you they will stop here. Not because I want them too but because I won't just go and tag someone randomly, it goes against my nature. So please all of you who have sent me an award I just want to say thank you I appreciate your liking my blog so much. But for those who may be thinking of sending me an award I would appreciate a comment about my spot in my comment section. Please do not be offended this is not meant for any specific but I don't want to be the one who breaks up the fun!

That being said I want to post some more cards I hope you will enjoy.
There are three using Firecracker Designs and one is Eureka Stamps. The first one is FCD(Fall Harvest) and is a M.Zindorff technique, off hand I can't remember what it is called but she does great things with a brayer. The second one is Also FCD ,the word Fall, from the same set (Fall Harvest) it is actually an ATC this is done with TJ technique Designer tile, with a slight twist. Third one is Eureka don't know name off hand. Last but not least another FCD (Little Things) and the only tech here (the moon) is another TJ tech called Alcohol Splash.
Well hope you all enjoyed these cards. I have been very busy making Christmas themed cards for a swap on The Stampers United group but I can't post them until they are swapped out sometime in October-November...can you believe it?
One more thing and on a little sadder note I am asking everyone to pray for this country, for the tough decision that has to be made on the bail out. I'm praying that the right decision be made by lawmakers.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and a better weekend!!!!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

As you will remember I wrote in a previous post that I finally found a stamping buddy. Well during our get together I also learned she makes her owns stamps, how cool is that. She also can make logos and personal stamps (I think that is right) well better than me trying to explain go take a look at her web site . She has one stamp a Cristmas tree shown above that I just had to have. She is also making a personal stamp to use on the back of my cards!!!

Also in this post are cards we made with the Technique Junkies Tech Aged Tiles that we did at our first stamping get together. She was also nice enough to send me a picture of herself that I am may not know what I look like...I can't take pics I keep breaking the camera LOL...!
That's it for now!!!

Blog Spot Awards

I recieved these two awards from my former boss (Design Team) and friend Pam of Firecracker Designs by Pamela! Thanks Pam this is quite an honor. I'm so glad that your new DT's nominated you but I'm still a little jealous of them taking my spot. Just Kidding can't wait to see their work.

Also received the top one from my special friend Lori who is the moderator of The Best House Mouse Group. She and I have bonded even though we have never met. She sent me this a while ago but being as dense as I am I just know figured out how to add them to my blog!!! LOL. Now does that mean I have to do 14 or 21 new awards? This could pose a problem cause I don't have that many blog friends. NO I don't mean I don't have friends just not that many that have blogs!!!

I will post all the blog friends I pick in a little while...right now I have a hungry man home from the work force and grumbling for dinner!!!

Card share

Here is a card I made yesterday. It used two backgounds. One is the oldie but goodie Shaving Cream, this is an all time favorite. The second is a technique called Starburst, it is actually a scrap from the original. I liked the effect that was left when I used the original. Stamp is by I Brake for Stamps. TFL
Got a lot to do today LOL at least I will try....sitting at my computer puts me right next to my craft table and I really think I hear it calling me.................

here are a few more cards. Heather and I discussed cards tonight and these are two of my favorites that I told her about. The first one uses Alcohol Float Technique and the second one is Penciled Twinks. Hope you enjoy.

First Stamping Night

I've been stamping since 2003 and I just went to my first stamping get together tonight. You may remember I said I felt like I was the lone stamper well a few weeks ago an ad appeared in Craig's list looking for stampers in the RI area. Well of course I jumped at the chance. Tonight Heather and I got together for a stamping night and it was so much fun. She is so much fun and we have a lot in common. Although I am older than she is I felt very comfortable and right at home with her. I guess it is true that stamping has no age barrier. She also has had more response to her ad and we may actually become a group this is so exciting. I have listened about how much fun you stampers have on your stamping nights now maybe I'll be the one sharing all my stamping nights with you all. Thanks Heather for placing your ad and I look forward to sharing and learning from you. It was a terrific night!!

Labor Day Weekend

Hope all had a wonderful holiday weekend. For me it was a mixed blessing...working and stamping. Help DH with renovations, now I'm a smutsing laborer!!! It actually is fun like frosting a cake. I found it to be more relaxing than work.

Then today I got the day off and got to stamp. I made two new cards which I enjoyed making. I made the backgrounds a while ago so it was a matter of finding the right stamps. I used two companies Firecracker Designs by Pamela and I Brake for Stamps.

Hope you enjoy them will. I also still have some cards that I have never gotten to the blog so I will be here this week loading and chatting. So come and join me this week!!!

A few of my Cards

I can't believe in my postings that I have never posted a House Mouse Stamp. These little guys are one of my passions. I have a wall full of their stamps.

So here are a few for you too see.
The first one is for a Blue and Brown swap...on the left side is a popsicle stick and if you remove ithere is ribbon wrapped around it for my swap partner to use.
Next one is for a red, white, and blue swap.
Last one was for another swap.
I don't have all of them scanned because although I do a lot of them they are put away for swaps. So I will post them from now on every now and then!!

here is kitchen

Had to stop work on kitchen to do renovations to the bathroom because of the plumbing that has to run down to the basement.

I'm excited though to have a functioning kitchen, this has been a lot of work for DH who is no spring chicken (he doesn't read my blog) LOL. Gives you an idea I love my cabinets!!!! On the right side you can see the back of the floor to ceiling cabinet (called a pantry) it stores all my big appliances!!! I feel just like an HGTV (Design to Sell) kitchen with only my coffee pot on the counter. Those of you who are also HGTV fanatics will know what I'm talking about!!!
Again have a great week!

Been a while!!!

Well here I am again. Can't believe it's been two months.

In this time I have lost my craft room twice to renovations...whine... but now it seems to be back together if not perfect it is functioning . Even have a new craft table. Hopefully I will have my own sink and extra storage as soon as DH gets everything hooked up!!! This will be great for all my techniques from Technique Junkies that I love to do. I am getting the old sink and vanity from the old bathroom installed in my craft room!!

It has also been a year since I became a DT for Firecracker Designs by Pamela and my time is up.
She has already picked her new DT for this year and it is with mixed emotions I watch this year come to an end. I am anxious to find out who is on the new DT but sad to see our time to come. I will miss my other team mates, Brenda, Etha, Lorraine, Jen and Ursula very much. They have inspired and encouraged me so much this year, not only with their work but with their knowledge that I feel they have helped me grow tremedously. What can I say about our Leader Pam, other than she is the bestest!! She not only is one great stamp artist but she is a wonderful person. She also helped me to grow this year. Between her wonderful stamps, encouragement, and critiques, she gave me a year full of knowledge and inspiration. So thanks Pam and Design Team 2007-2008 it's been a super year. I know we will all keep in touch through other avenues, and I'm sure I will contiune to pick your creative brains!!!!

Please visit Pam's web site she has come out with some new stamps this year and I think she will be adding to them in September!!! The last release has some really creative and beautiful stamps that you must go look. I know September releases will be fantastic go there right now....and don't forget to visit again in September,November, December, January 2009, oh I think you get the message...visit weekly!!!!!

All this being said I really hope to post more on my blog. I hope to get some of the cards I've made and also some cards some of my creator buddies have made. I have one buddy who has gotten into making different styles of cards and I'm hoping to get her to let me post some of her work and instructions on how to make these cards. What do you say Kathay?

Have a great week!!!
